ash-Shoura Council

Window fashions

This was a pretty exciting day we visited ash-Shoura Council, the Consultative Council to the King. This is the same place Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, visited 2 days ago. We met with the committee on education. It was awesome.

The evening was spent at King Abd Al-Aziz Center of National Dialogue where we had a tour of the Historical Center. The Center is a large museum-like facility that provides a pictorial history of the Kingdom and the religion of Islam. We were served coffee and dates in the outer court yard by men dressed in the traditional ancient Bedouin dress complete with waist weapons.

Tomorrow morning we are scheduled to go to the desert and then some airport hopping; 5 airports before I finally make it home. It will be 2 days of traveling/waiting so this will probably be my last blog on the journey. I may add one more when I return. Thanks for traveling with me; it's been good to know you were there.
